Gibraltar has a number of beaches, however they are very small and in the summer can be very crowded.
Outside the official bathing season, they are generally empty as shown in the following pictures.
Eastern Beach
Eastern Beach Gibraltar is largest beach in Gibraltar stretching for several hundred metres
along the east side. From its sandy beach you can enjoy an excellent view of The Rock of Gibraltar.
Due to its location, unlike other beaches which at times suffer from the shadow of high cliffs, the
sun shines all day. Eastern Beach Gibraltar offers fine sand and clean sea. There are bars and food
available in the summer. In summer there are faculties to enable people with disabilities to access the beach.

Western Beach
In the past Western beach was the exclusive playground of MOD families stationed on
the Rock, however it is now open to the public being a less crowded beach, this small
yet soft sanded beauty is one that locals enjoy since the tourists tend to pass it up
for the more active beaches. Recently it has been closed due to pollution by sewage from Spain,
however following a number of protests, the La Linea local government has promised to solve the
problem in time for summer 2011.
Catalan Bay
Catalan Bay on the Eastside of Gibraltar has a small hotel and is known for its seafood restaurants.
It has Gibraltars second largestm although small compared to most other meditarranean beachesm and
is very popular with tourists. It can be overcrowded in the summer.
Sandy Bay
Situated at the southern end of the Westside of the Rock, in front of the
'Both Worlds' housing complex, this used to be one of Gibraltar's most charming
beaches, but errosion and neglect has resulted in in it virtually dissapearing
and it is currently closed as it is considered dangerous.
Camp Bay and Little Bay
Situated on the West side of the Rock, adjacent to Rosia Bay, these bathing areas are popular and have
access to the sea, but no actual sand.
